Overview

GitHub Copilot เป็น AI pair programmer ของ GitHub — มันให้ autocomplete, Copilot Chat, และ Copilot Agent ภายใน IDE ของคุณ ช่วยให้เขียน code ตามความตั้งใจ (intent) ได้เร็วขึ้น

When NOT to Use:

งานที่ต้องการ reasoning หลายขั้นตอนข้ามไฟล์ใหญ่ๆ (อาจใช้ Claude Code แทน)
เขียน code ที่ sensitive ต้องมีคนตรวจก่อนเสมอ

Basic Usage

Autocomplete — เขียน comment หรือเริ่มพิมพ์ แล้วกด Tab:

  // Copilot suggests the body here
}

Chat — เปิด Copilot panel แล้วถาม:

Explain what this function does and how to make it safer.

Inline edit — เลือก code แล้วขอเปลี่ยนแปลง:

Use a parameterized query here instead.

Common Workflows

1. Generate from a Comment (Verify Before Trust)

// add(a,b), subtract(a,b), multiply(a,b), divide(a,b), calculate(op,a,b)
// → accept suggestion, then run node test.js

2. Agentic Task

@workspace Add error handling to the fetch wrapper and add a test for it.

3. Fix on Failure

The test fails on negative input. Fix the edge case.

Tips

Verify before trust — Copilot suggestions ดูถูกต้องแต่อาจผิดที่ edge case; ต้องรัน test
Write the interface first — ระบุ public API ใน comment ก่อนแล้วให้มันเติม
Ask for the failing case — “why does this fail on input -1?” ได้คำตอบที่ดีกว่า “make it work”
Separate generation from review — อย่าให้ AI grade งานของตัวเองโดยไม่ตรวจ
